Global warming and our stupid Intelligence

I am an engineer in this world to make life more easier,comfortable..Though h all most all development done by science is apparently seems to be for humans but is it true they are all those development we need? or not affecting our life, the whole world with long term side effect.Do we need them or the need is created for a need? All are needs and developments behind them are linked cyclic/recursive process.

Lets say a story
" I like the fruit from a tree in my garden which my father planted in his green age.I take lots of fruit from it and distribute it among my relatives, sell them and make money..But not taking care of the tree very much..Not giving proper fertilizer(another progress in science!!) (there may be lots of reason ,why i am not giving proper treatment-time short/high profit/unavailability of nourishing elements/lack of stamina and hard work and so on) water and environment to it. So the tree start giving less amount of fruit because its unhealthy.I cut down spending money on it .I continue losing its production.
At last it dies. I don't have any fruit to eat/sell.The tree was my only source of food and income.I have to do other job to collect money to provide food to my family and myself.I work hard.I die early due t handwork. My son is young now.He cant buy a plant also its fruits(suppose the cost of plant became higher than platinum due to unavailability in the market ).He start working as labor in the food processing factory. He become older in his early age and loses his lifespan every day."

Same story applies to mother earth. And its resources are as tree. And we the human being are who call them intelligent among all animal are the character of the above story. We have science, intelligence and long vision to use earth resource such a way ,we are endangering the earth nd environment so our and our future generation life .
